Through the Years | 13 Family Sessions with the Sanborns

One of the greatest joys of being a Northern Virginia family photographer is getting to watch families grow and change through the years. This beautiful family is a perfect example—they’ve trusted me to capture their memories across 13 sessions since 2017, growing from a family of three to a lively crew of five.

We’ve photographed them in all seasons and stages, from full family sessions that allow plenty of time to explore and play, to quick mini sessions perfect for holiday cards and yearly updates. Each session builds on the last, creating a visual story full of genuine connection, laughter, and the unique details that make their family theirs.

The benefit of working together year after year is not just beautiful images—it’s comfort and trust. Kids remember me (and my silly tricks!), parents feel more relaxed in front of the camera, and together we create a library of images that becomes a treasured family legacy.
