One of the most rewarding parts of my job is getting to meet so many wonderful kids, each with their own unique personalities. Recently, I had the joy of photographing a group of cousins who came in for their Personality Portraits together, and what a blast it was!
From the quiet and reserved to the bubbly and vivacious, each child brought something special to their session, and watching their personalities unfold in front of the camera was pure magic.
Whether a child is shy or outgoing, capturing their genuine personality takes more than just a few clicks of the camera. Each child in this cousin group needed something a little different to help bring their true selves to the surface. I make it my mission to get on their level—to learn what makes them tick, what makes them laugh, and what makes them feel comfortable.
This personalized approach ensures that every child, no matter how quiet or energetic, shines in their own way. I work closely with each little one to create a space where they feel free to be themselves, allowing me to capture those moments that reflect who they really are.
Every child is different, and some may feel more comfortable with a parent nearby, while others might prefer one-on-one interaction. I always encourage parents to join in the fun if it helps their child feel more at ease. But sometimes, less is more! When it’s just me and the child, I can often form a unique bond that allows their true personality to come out naturally.
In this case, the cousins were so comfortable with each other that they fed off one another’s energy, causing fits of laughter and moments of quiet comfort. Their connection made for the perfect atmosphere for me to work one-on-one while also capturing the warmth and closeness between them.
With every session, my goal is to capture the full spectrum of your child’s personality, from the sweet and thoughtful to the goofy and playful. Personality Portraits are all about showing your child as they truly are, without stiff poses or forced smiles. Whether your little one is more introverted or full of energy, I know how to bring out their best side.
Plus, these sessions are quick—just 10 minutes—which is perfect for kids with busy schedules or short attention spans. And because each session is laid-back and fun, your child leaves the studio feeling confident and happy, with photos that reflect the real them.
This cousin group reminded me just how fun it can be when kids are with people they love and trust. They felt at ease with one another, and that comfort radiated in their photos. Group sessions with family or friends can be a fantastic way to create shared memories while still capturing each child’s unique spark. The dynamic was truly special, and the images reflect the bond these cousins share while also showcasing their individual personalities.
Whether you’re looking to capture your child’s personality or want to book a group session with siblings or cousins, Personality Portraits offer a fun, stress-free experience that delivers beautiful, lasting memories. These quick sessions are perfect for bringing out the best in every child—and the photos are timeless keepsakes you’ll treasure for years to come.
