One of the things I love most about full family sessions is the space they give us—to ease in, to connect, and to let your kids just be themselves.
This sweet family’s session is the perfect example. Their boys were slow to warm up (totally normal, by the way!). At first, they stuck close to mom and dad and weren’t so sure about the camera. But because we had the time that a full session allows, we didn’t rush—we played, explored, and let the boys lead the way. And by the end? Laughter, running, snuggles, and genuine smiles.
This kind of unfolding just isn’t always possible in a shorter session—and that’s totally okay! Every family is different, which is why I offer three session types:
These are the most relaxed. We have up to an hour to take things at your family’s pace—great for shy kiddos, larger families, or when you want to explore a location or include outfit changes. These sessions allow space for natural connection, play, and capturing every combination you could dream of.
These are a happy medium! About 20 minutes long, they’re perfect for families with young kids who don’t need much warming up, or for seasonal portraits (think spring blooms or fall foliage). We still capture great combos and real moments—just with a little more structure and momentum.
Short and sweet! These quick 5–10 minute sessions are often offered on specific dates or at special locations. Ideal for updated portraits or annual traditions, they’re best for families who know their kids are fast to warm up and ready to go.
Whatever pace your family needs, I’ve got you. But if you know your kids need a little extra time (or if you do!), a full session might be the perfect fit.
