There’s something about winter in the studio that’s particularly special.
Maybe it’s the soft light.
Maybe it’s the cozy little space.
Maybe it’s the fact that kids seem to arrive with extra personality tucked into every mitten, pocket, and silly little grin.
This season was full of it—warmth, wiggles, snuggles, shyness, boldness, and full of personality. Not the posed kind. Not the “say cheese” kind. But the real kind.
The kind that lives in the way your child tilts their head when they’re thinking…
the way they hold onto a favorite stuffy…
the way their energy fills a room, or quietly lingers at the edges before stepping in.

One of my favorite things about these sessions is this: We don’t ask kids to be anything other than who they already are.
Some walked in bold and full of stories, ready to show me everything at once.
Others stayed close to mom at first, taking it all in, easing into the space in their own time.
And every single one of those ways is welcome here!
Because years from now, that’s what will matter most. Not how perfectly they smiled, but how it felt to be them in this season.

We had Legos (of course). Well-loved stuffies that have clearly seen a lot of life alongside their little people. And one unforgettable “cool kid” in a suit and sunglasses who fully owned the room in the best way.
These details might feel small right now… But they are not.
They are the pieces of your family’s story that quietly slip away as seasons change.

What I’ve found, time and time again, is that these sessions aren’t really about portraits. They’re about remembering…
The snaggleteeth.
The big feelings.
The way siblings orbit each other—sometimes sweetly, sometimes wildly.
The way your child moves through the world right now, before it changes again.

And the best part here? You don’t have to do anything perfectly to hold onto it!
You don’t need the perfect outfit.
You don’t need a perfectly behaved child.
Just show up, and I’ll take care of the rest.
I’ve got you!
