If you’re looking for a beautiful Northern Virginia location for your fall family photos, Silver Lake Regional Park in Haymarket, VA is one of my favorites. Especially in late September and early October, this park offers a transitional seasonal look that works perfectly for mini and midi sessions.

Silver Lake has a little bit of everything: a scenic wooden bridge over the lake, water views, and plenty of trees that provide a timeless, natural backdrop. The warm golden light through the trees offers beauty throughout Autumn!

This location is especially great for families who want classic outdoor photos with a relaxed, natural vibe. Whether it’s kids racing across the bridge, a quiet cuddle under the trees, or everyone gathered with the lake behind them, Silver Lake Regional Park offers a variety of spots for creating portraits you’ll love.
